An opportunity to meet the designer and discuss his latest news and projects.

Known for his work in "positive design", a term describing a design approach that values wear, durability and low impact, designer Julien Gorrias is back in 2024 with some very exciting news that once again underlines his talent and creativity.

After joining the Mobilier National with his Torii table in January 2023 and presenting other of his creations in Milan in April 2023, including the iconic Chaise qui cache la forêt, the founder of Carbone 14 continues to surprise us with his singular design and authentic, poetic thinking. Exhibitions at Corner CEB and French Desgin, an introduction to Invisible Collection and a new participation in Milan 2024... So much news to discover and, above all, not to miss in the coming weeks.

INSOLITE is the name of the latest exhibition organized by Le Corner, CEB's new concept in showroom design, highlighting French know-how. Conceived and staged to showcase the new generation of French designers, this exhibition brings together different profiles and singular, exclusive pieces from the French creative scene, whose expertise and creative thinking are a point of honor.

On this occasion, Julien Gorrias presents the chair that hides the forest, presented last year at design week, as well as his latest work for Maison & Objet In The City. It's called "La lampe qui va de soie". This 100% natural lamp is handcrafted in the Sericyne workshop in the Cévennes region of France. Under the banner of positive design, Julien and his Carbone 14 studio have conceived this lamp taking into consideration the effect of time on objects. Imagined as a module that can be repeated at will to create a wall lamp, table lamp, suspension lamp or column of light, this lamp has a superb discourse to be discovered until March 22.

WINNER OF THE FRENCH DESIGN 100

From January 17 to March 22, Le French Design Galerie unveils an exclusive selection of design and interior architecture pieces from the winning projects of the 3rd edition of the FD100 prize. These exceptional "Made in France" pieces, which today include the iconic Torii table by Julien Gorias, embody, in the words of Laurent Le Bon, President of the Centre Pompidou and of the FD100 2024 Jury, "the vitality of French design".

The fruit of the collaboration of 27 designers and as many manufacturers, the 34 works chosen highlight: "an overflowing creativity that brings to the fore the demands of formal research, a technical expertise capable of mastering all the dimensions of a project, while calling on the exceptional virtuosity of our manufacturers, who are an infinite resource of materials and forms for designers." To be discovered for a few weeks, a circular scenography imagined and designed by Anne-Cécile Comar and Philippe Croisier of Atelier du Pont.

INVISIBLE COLLECTION

The exhibition took place at Féau Boiseries, the iconic French woodwork specialist. In their magical, historic salons, limited-edition creations by Mobilier National complement a curation of our iconic collections, with scenography by Hamrei.
