Art+Loom Unveils New Collaboration with Artist Katrien Van Der Schueren

Continuing its mission of transforming contemporary art into extraordinary rugs, Art+Loom announces its newest artist collaboration with Los Angeles-based sculptural artist Katrien Van Der Schueren. The exclusive collection translates Van Der Schueren's expressive exploration of material, texture, and form into six handwoven designs that blur the line between fine art and functional design.

Van Der Schueren is a Los Angeles-based artist whose practice spans sculpture, architectural intervention, lighting, and functional forms. Her work moves between autonomous sculpture and site-responsive installation, exploring how form can carry emotion, history, and lived experience. For this collaboration, Art+Loom selected 6 original art pieces and translated them into wool and silk, preserving the movement, relief, and irregularity of the original works while introducing a new material expression of her practice.
