LeLAD - LeLADBRUT

It's a score played by many hands
A harmony to be shared.
LeLAD
The Laboratoire en Architecture & Design, co-founded in 2007 by Guillaume Terver, is a multidisciplinary research ‘place’ where the scales of architecture, landscape, interiors and furniture come together. The very idea of the ‘laboratory’ is to be able to combine the skills, talents and sensibilities of different players.
LeLADBRUT
LeLADDBRUT is not an aesthetic. LeLADBRUT is an authentic attitude in which the work of meaning meets the material, through a place and a user, for a reasoned and contextualised architecture. Brutalism in architecture is a social and artistic movement. This architectural style emerged from the modern movement between the 1950s and 1980s. It is characterised by cold, minimalist design and the use of ‘BRUT’ materials such as concrete. But this minimalism is aggressive because it is very gestural, even formal, and without any real economy of means. How can we define an approach to interior architecture using the term brut, which is not decorative, but which highlights an almost artisanal know-how, where everything has its place and its use. LeLADBRUT is a project led by Manon Lhommelet and Guillaume Terver, two interior architects with a passion for craftsmanship.
LeLAD, leLAD EDITIONS and LeLADBRUT are three personalities, three creative signatures who share a coherent and complete ecosystem.
It's the story of Guillaume Terver, founder of Le Laboratoire en Architecture & Design (LeLAD), and the people he meets. With Esther Guyon, they decided to develop a new scale, that of furniture, and created LeLAD EDITIONS, where furniture echoes appropriate functions. Manon Lhommelet, on the other hand, has just returned from a long spell in Japan, where she and Guillaume Terver co-founded LeLADBRUT, an interior architecture agency where meaning meets substance, a reasoned architecture sensitive to traditional craftsmanship. Three signatures, projects of all scales and programmes that respond to and nourish each other. A studio in Brittany, an agency in Paris, projects in France and around the world.
L'ATELIER, the cradle of this ecosystem
In Brittany, a space has been created that brings together the activities of these three partners, and houses a laboratory where the three entities meet, in the direct vicinity of some of the artisans with whom Guillaume Terver, Esther Guyon and Manon Lhommelet collaborate.
