With Glow, artist Katrien Van Der Schueren unveils at Galerie JAG a new collection of lighting sculptures that expands her sculptural practice into the realm of illumination, treating light as both a material and a medium. Conceived as functional sculptures, each piece in the collection is hand-sculpted in concrete without the use of molds, a meticulous process that guarantees the absolute uniqueness of every work. Guided by intuition and the movement of the hand, subtle variations shape singular forms that possess a distinctly organic presence.

Finished with a cold-applied liquid metal coating, the works capture the depth and tactile quality of metal while retaining the fluidity and expressive movement characteristic of the artist's hand. Through this collection, Katrien Van Der Schueren affirms a sculptural practice in which light becomes a sensitive extension of matter, expanding the dialogue between form, material, and illumination.
