Elise Fouin

Elise Fouin, a designer originally from Franche-Comté, draws her inspiration from a childhood enriched by the visual arts, music, and dance. Between rural roots and a thirst for culture, she early on forged a balance between action and thought. At the École Boulle, she first trained in silversmithing before turning toward product design. Upon graduating in 2003, she freed herself from traditional frameworks by exploring the possibilities of paper. A tactile creator, Fouin always begins with materials, which she handles like an inventive pastry chef. Factories become hunting grounds where she gathers industrial scraps and offcuts. Wood, metal, glass, fabric, plastics: so many discarded materials that she revives through innovation.

Over the years, she has built a multifaceted body of work, balancing experimentation and rigor. Her “Gigotte” and “Lépiotes” lamps, her “Bouillotte” table, and her “Chimisteries” vases bear witness to this creative freedom. She multiplies collaborations: Tissage Moutet, Jars Céramistes, Forestier... After celebrating reuse, she now focuses on local craftsmanship. Her tour of workshops across France reflects a very concrete vision of sustainable development.

For Elise Fouin, design is fluid, playful, and always grounded in the intelligence of the hand.
