SAINT-TROPEZ I Studio OREKA has overseen the refurbishment of the legendary Salama restaurant, an oasis of freshness in the heart of the village

David Granata, co-founder of Studio Oreka, has designed the refurbishment of Salama in Saint-Tropez, a restaurant that takes diners on a journey to the gates of the Orient and the Mediterranean.

Salama, an iconic restaurant in Saint-Tropez, unveils its new look following a complete refurbishment covering 800 m², designed by David Granata. The project, which began in January and was completed in April 2026, was carried out to a particularly tight schedule, with the aim of rapidly transforming the space without compromising the existing architecture.

The project builds on the building’s original structure, characterised by its vaults and arches, which have been preserved and highlighted. The architectural intervention notably involved relocating the main entrance in order to rethink the arrival route and improve the flow of foot traffic. In line with this, the bar has been repositioned, whilst the former central bar has made way for a large square space – more open and welcoming – designed to serve as the heart of the venue. The garden and the outdoor walkways have also been redesigned to enhance the progressive experience of the venue.
